Immortalized in numerous paintings and photographs, "he Wedding Cake House" is the most famous heritage home in Old Markham Village. The house has a long and rich history, firmly intertwined with that of the village and it's early entrepreneurial residents.
Built in 1870, it was the home of Jame Speight, the first Reeve of the Village of Markham. The Speight wagon works was a major local employer for carriage works.i |
