"The Studio" School of Dance was founded in 1972 as Nancie's School of Dance. Over the past 32 years we have grown, upgraded, and expanded studio space to what it is today. This has enabled us to provide our students with the best possible learning environment. Over the past few years we have enhanced our program to include the fields of drama and singing to allow our students the opportunity to become a 'triple threat' (dancer, singer, actor).
We offer Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics, Hip Hop, Pilates, Drama, and Vocal (singing) classes. Our students range in age from three to adult. There are classes for recreation from beginner to advance. Jazz and Tap exams are offered with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA). Competition classes are also available. |

Dance Instructions |
Ballet All dance students at The Studio are required to take ballet classes, as we believe the technique is vital to any and all facets of dance. Our experienced teachers help kids develop proper technique, breathing and form. | Tap This highly rhythmic dance style is great for developing and advanced students alike. It helps to create an inner beat that keeps dancers "on cue". Tappers get to strut their stuff for their friends and family in a year-end June recital. | Jazz Possibly the most popular among styles, jazz offers tons of self expression and pure fun. It's also a great workout! Dancers perform together in a year-end June recital. | Acro Students learn how many muscles are truly needed for strong flexibility and balance. Dancers perform together in a year-end June recital. | Prama Actors learn how to convincingly portray and clearly take on different characters. This full year course culminates in a year end co-production with vocal students. | Vocal Singers learn the importance of a steady breathing technique, and take on character singing as well as more modern pop style. Year end recital is done in conjunction with drama students. | Adult Classes A fun atmosphere for adults to keep in shape and have some fun at the same time! Performers strut their stuff during the year-end June recital. | Competition Students audition for the chance to be a part of The Studio's competition team. This team travels around Ontario, and into the United States for competitions yearly. Competition students take part in the March Ballet Recital in preparation for their competition season (March-May). |
