Our curriculum provides 45 minutes each of Creative Art, Preschool Music, and Musical Theatre which introduces movement, music and acting. | Music - Explores and experiments with sounds and musical instruments
- Develops an appreciation for different types and styles of music
- Children will engage in creating their own music, rythmic responses and learn the fundamentals of music | Musical Theatre - Provides experiences in which children become more aware of the movement they see in their world
- Dramatic play takes on a whole new meaning as children are provided with the opportunity to explore different backgrounds and familiar settings
- Children will participate in cooperative learning | Pre-Dance An introductory class to Ballet and Jazz with strong emphasis on creativity and interpretation. An additional 15 minutes of Pre-Tap is available in the one hour class. | 2nd and 3rd year Jazz / Tap / Ballet One half hour each of Jazz, and/or Tap, and/or Ballet. | Lyrical Introduces elements of Jazz, modern dance and music to the discipline of Ballet. | Pointe A supplement to the Ballet class, learning the basic concept and steps of pointe work. Focuses on rhythm, control, balance, proper stance and musicality. Quality of sound is very important and therefore strongly emphasized in classes at every level. | Jazz Involves much of the same technique as Ballet but has more upbeat and sharp movements. It emphasizes parallel leg work and the ability to move one part or area of the body at a time without disturbing any other. These movements are known as isolations and usually involve the head, hips, ribs. | Acro Students learn gymnastic floor skills that are later combined with dance skills in an acrobatic dance routine |
