Our instructors come from vast backgrounds in professional dance performance and training fields in Canada and Internationally. They continue their personal dance work explorations and training, always to bring you the latest in styles and techniques! Dance is a process and art-form where you never stop learning new things. Do not hesitate to ask questions or contact us. Students who have enjoyed Rhythm Dynamix have auditioned and went on to professional training schools and worked as dancers in movies/television and stage! From Beginner level to Advanced of all ages , we believe everyone has a natural, internal love of music and rhythm that carries us in our everyday lives. Classical Ballet
Based on the Cecchetti syllabus. Emphasis on posture, body Positions, arm movements and footwork. Balance, coordination And confidence building a dancer to be flexible and conscious Of tempo and rhythm through classical and modern music Lyrical/Modern ballet is mainly jazz and ballet mixed.
Tap
Extreme footwork making use of musical beats and rhythms Through cleats on the bottoms of the tap shoes. Use of full Body movement to a variety of music genres.
Musical Theater
Using story/songs,sometimes from musical stage play to create lively song and dance routines with full body involvement using jazz steps.
Jazz/Dance
Using jazz music concentrating on syncopations And off-beats to create "rhythm Be used as well (eg: dance, techno, alternative)
Urban Nu Skool
Street Dance which spawned the main stream Hip-Hop Dance scene. Includes techniques such as b-boying (Break Dancing), Martial Arts, Gymnastics, Tap and any other dance form and moves suited to the individual. The music includes (Break Beats, House, Garage, Funk, R&B, Hip-Hop Music).
B-boying/B-girling (Break Dancing)
Learn the various techniques that make up Break Dancing (one of the four main elements of the Hip-Hop Culture). Uprocks, Down Rocks, Shuffles (six step), Windmills, Backspins, Freezes (poses), Stalls, Tracks, etc... Learn these elements to create your own individual style.
Hip Hop/Street/Funk
Based in rap, R&B and funk/soul/dance. Learning isolations and opposition Movements to create sharp high/low Dynamix to popping, bouncy beats.
Foxtrot
Harry Fox in 1913 introduced the Foxtrot as an extremely popular dance of its time. One of the first dances to introduce the slow rhythm. American style is not limited in its closed positioning, therefore is more creative and choreographic than its International counterpart. The basic rhythm is SQQ,
Waltz
It was a country folk dance in the 1700's. Then an early 1800's dance, and was looked down upon for the close male-female holding position. American style again breaks from closed position and has basic rhythm of 123.
Tango
African, Indian and Latin influences. Began as an indiscreet seductive dance of the Argentinian flatlands, but soon evolved to a more classy stylized form found today. It can be very stylized in footwork and body action or simple depending on tastes.
