The Kombat Arts Training Academy is the premier Mixed Martial Arts facility in Canada. We are located just 20 minutes west of Toronto in the city of Mississauga. We offer an exciting list of programs such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Combat Submission Wrestling, Boxing, Capoeira, JKD and much more. Muay Thai
With techniques including kicks, punches and the extensive use of knees and elbows, Muay Thai is often referred to as the science of 8 limbs. It is an effective and brutal martial art originally from Thailand. Muay Thai distinguishes itself from western kickboxing and other standup martial arts.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
BJJ is an effective self defense system with its main emphasis on ground fighting and submission holds involving joint locks and chokeholds. BJJ was originally intended to teach a smaller average person how to beat a larger, stronger and faster opponent in combat focusing on leverage and technique.
Combat Submision Wrestling
CSW is a complete program covering the broad spectrum of kicking, boxing, clinch, takedowns, grappling/groundfighting and skill/attribute training drills for a complete no gi grappler or a mixed martial artist enthusiast and/or competitor.
Jeet Kune Do Concepts
Jeet Kune Do Concepts is a complete self defense process for the streets. It covers components from CSW, Kali, Muay Thai boxing, Savate, Boxing, Jun Fan Gung Fu and Defensive Tactics from the Law Enforcement field. The purpose of this class is to integrate different techniques and tactics.
Jun Fan Gung Fu
Jun Fan Gung Fu is the name given to the Fighting methods/style developed originally by Jeet Kune Do (JKD) founder Bruce Lee. Through his personal experience Bruce Lee found many arts/styles had impressive techniques to offer but no one art was able to cover all areas of defense.
Conditioning
A collection of drills and exercises that train both aerobic and anaerobic systems to gain unlimited endurance, reduce body fat, increase lean muscle, develop explosive power, achieve great levels of strength, and ulitmately give you unbreakable mental toughness.
STX
STX stands for Savate-Thai-Crosstraining. This is the stand-up style that is taught by Erik Paulson (erikpaulson.com) as a result of the training he?€¢ās had from his many instructors. From Savate,STX draws its footwork and evasiveness. Savate is known for being highly mobile and constantly moving.
Savate
Savate also known as Boxe Fran?”×aise (French boxing) or French kickboxing, is a martial art which employs both the hands and feet as weapons and contains elements of boxing and graceful kicking techniques using the whole foot (no shins or knees like in Muay Thai).
Wrestling
Wrestling is a sport in which two unarmed opponents grapple with one another. The goals is cause the opponent to lose balance and fall to the floor by throwing or tripping, and ultimately to pin the opponent's shoulders to the floor, through the use of body grips, strength, and leverage.
Kali
The Pekiti-Tirsia Kali system is one of the few remaining authentic and complete Filipino combat systems in existence today. Pekiti-Tirsia is system and technology of combat fighting with the Blade. It encompasses all traditional weapon categories and is formulated on the strategic principle.
