A wonderful introduction to the art of dance, Pre-dance classes focus on positions and early technique with an emphasis on the understanding of music, rhythm, balance, and flexibility. | Jazz Jazz is a very stylized form of dance the incorporates energetic movements yet with fundamental technique as it?€¢âs base. Current music styles are incorporated, yet age appropriate material is worked on in class beginning with isolation work, stretching and flexibility. | Tap Tap is a form of dance where your feet do the work! Basic rhythms are learned early on and progress to highly yncopated footwork. Dancers learn musicality and timing in the tap class and eventually pair their feet with very stylized dancing for an entertainment package. | Acrobatics Acro is the perfect combination of modified gymnastics (i.e.: not as stressful on the body as gymnastics) and dance technique. Students begin my using mats while working on acro "tricks", namely front rolls and cartwheels, to balance tricks on the hands on forearms . | Lyrical Lyrical is a very interpretive style of jazz with a solid ballet base. Students wishing to participate in this class must have a ballet background and must be enrolled in a ballet class at the same time. Lyrical is set to slow music with the emphasis being on the interpretation of words. | Hip-Hop This is the most fun you can have no matter if you are beginner or advanced student. Current "video style" steps are taught at high energy pace to the most popular music. Each week is a different combination in class and as hip-hop styles change (i.e.: a jazz influenced style to more of a street. | Stretch Dancers will work towards increasing flexibility, while lengthening muscles and toning muscle groups. Teachers may incorporate a jazz barre component to the class and many times will work on kicks and leaps from "side to side". | R.A.D. Syllabus Ballet Ballet is the basis of all dance and it is in this class where one learns the correct body placement for all forms of dance. A very graceful and expressive genre, ballet combines strength, flexibility and overall poise and grace. Dancers work at the barre, centre floor, and from ?€©«side to side?€?. |
