Gymnastics Mississauga was in its infancy in 1969 with 29 female gymnasts enrolled in our club. By 1974, we had grown to 88 gymnasts. In 1976 the Montreal Olympics brought to the world Nadia Comaneci. There was a dramatic change in the sport after the world witnessed this young athlete performance. The following year our ranks grew to 640 gymnasts in the recreational and competitive streams. Last year, over 2,000 energetic youngsters ranging in age 2 to 21 tumbled through our doors. Situated in the heart of Mississauga, our state of the art facility includes a full size spring floor, two in ground trampolines and an in ground training pit. Gymnastics is a sport that if introduced at an early age can help youngsters to master other athletic activities. |
