Grand Master Cheung began studying the Martial Arts at the age of fifteen and soon after achieved the rank of black belt in Karate. At the age of 18, he achieved a level of proficiency in Taoist Kung Fu equivalent to a 4th Dan Black Belt. Shortly after he went to Korea as an exchange student, he took up Taekwondo as his pastime. It later became his passion. With a desire to deeply involve himself in Taekwondo, Grand Master Cheung became the Secretary & Treasurer General of our Canadian National Taekwondo governing body (1987-1995). He was the only Canadian Referee in the Taekwondo competitions at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Korea and the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. |
