The Burlington Dance Academy opened its doors in 1958. In 1980, it built the first building in Ontario exclusively designed for the study of dance.
It is fully climate-controlled and has two large mirrored studios featuring cushioned spring floors. Each year culminates in an exciting, smooth-running recital held at Mohawk College Theatre. Wonderful costumes, interesting lighting effects and hard work by our students and staff all ensure a memorable show! Student Scholarships are awarded at this time. The school holds a special Open House every year to give parents (and all interested!) the opportunity to view their child in their class setting. The goal of the school is to provide excellence in dance training for students of all ages, with the needs of each student being addressed. |

Creative Dance
The Creative Dance class introduces the young student to a delightful and imaginative program of musicality and dance movement. Children have fun while exploring movement creatively through songs, stories and imagery with live piano accompaniment. | Classical Ballet Classes
We divide the Classical Ballet classes into two groups:
Pre-primary through Grade 6
Elementary through Advanced
Available in the Cecchetti Method of Ballet.
Students wishing to study for ballet exams must take at least two classes per week and are subject to the Director's approval. | Jazz and Tap
Our Jazz and tap classes follow an exciting program based on the PAEC Syllabus and the latest jazz and tap techniques. Courses include jazz, hip-hop, lyrical and tap. | Competitive and Performing Company
For those showing a high level of technique, interest and dedication, our Company offers a great opportunity in challenging and pushing creative limits to showcase our students' talents. Company auditions are held on a yearly basis. | Summer Dance Intensive
Participants will experience five intensive hours of classes a day in ballet, jazz, tap, modern hip-hop and theatre. BDA Dance Intensive is a fantastic opportunity for the serious dancer to sharpen their skills and performance ability. Students are responsible for their own snacks and lunches. |
